Racist Voters Cartoon - Obama / McCain US Elections 2008
Friday, September 26th, 2008I am a strong Obama/Biden supporter in the upcoming elections and I would also like to think that I am a rational person. I also seem to have rather strong humanist inclinations so it comes as no surprise that I am quite stunned that at this point, that even Republicans are willing to consider voting for the nightmarish McCain/Palin ticket.
Neither of these latter candidates can be seriously taken into consideration for the offices they seek and entrusting them with the well-being of all life-forms on this planet (including our own children) seems foolish even for the most corrupt or party-brainwashed.
What also stuns me are the so-called democrats or ‘undecideds’ who will not be voting for Barack Obama for the sole reason that he is black. They claim it is because he is Muslim (which he is not - but which would be racist also), because he is somehow foreign (racist!), because he has a funny name (stupid and racist), because his dad was from Kenya (see above) or maybe because he has no experience (yeah, right!)…
I just had to draw this little cartoon to get my disappointment in such narrow-minded and simply stupid thinking from my chest:

Comic-Con
Monday, July 7th, 2008This is my ComicCon badge from 2003. (Can it really be five years ago already??)

I attended the convention with 2 very good friends and we had a great time. There were so many interesting people to see and meet. Stan Lee was there - very cool to meet him, albeit it very briefly. Another thing that sticks to mind was Dan Piraro’s (Bizarro) one-man show. Great fun even though there were some technical difficulties. He’s a very funny guy.
I had met him previously at an NCS event where he also did his shtick on stage and MCd the Reuben Awards ceremony.
After the convention we made sure we haunted the irish pubs of the Gaslamp district in a befitting fashion as well.

Monday, July 7th, 2008Farbige Illustration für die Neue Zürcher Zeitung am Sonntag zum Artikel ‘Der Kampf um die Publikation’ von Ian D. Marsden
Bleistiftskizzen der Roboter in meinem Moleskine Skizzenbuch. Preperatory pencil sketches of the robots in my Moleskine sketchbook.
This is the Layout stage in Adobe Illustrator. The two scientists have completed line-art but aren’t colored yet. The robots are only scribbles - I was waiting for approval from the editors and also still creating pencil sketches of the robots. I am a big fan of robots so I wanted to create some really nice, retro-style robots.
Die fertige Illustration - erstellt in Adobe Illustrator CS3. Erschienen in der NZZ am Sonntag am 6 Juli 2008. The finished illustration created in Adobe Illustrator published in NZZ on Sunday July 6th 2008.
