How many of these are we going to do? When will the next one be?
This all depends on how long I can maintain a reasonable interest level both with you the esteemed reader and my daughters, the brains behind the operation.
Please enjoy the world premiere first ever installment of Daddy Draws!
Today’s Episode: “How to draw a hamster eating cereal in a floating chair on a pool”
The final drawing will always be posted in the blog below the video as well:

Some friends of mine in Barbados have started a really cool new online community called COOL BARBADOS (http://www.cool-barbados.com)
Of course the site is completely free.
This is a place where native Bajans who live in Barbados can upload and share videos and pics of their favorite spots, fetes, neighborhoods, roti shops, rum shops, fish frys or even barber shops or kite flying spots. Anything and everything.
Likewise visitors to the island of Barbados and fans of Bajan life and culture can also share their photos, films and experiences, they can get in touch with locals and other friends of Barbados and find new locations and experiences they might want to enjoy on their next visit to the island.
People who have never visited beautiful Barbados can get a first glimpse and experience of some of the wonderful things they might encounter.

The basic idea is also that you can take a short Bajan vacation from your computer anytime you like. Take a break, a walk along the beach, sip a virtual rum and relax.
The most unusual and fun barber shop (or hairdresser if you prefer) in Zürich (possibly even Europe if not the world) is definitely Frankie B. in the Niederdorf, the old town of Zürich just by the Rathaus. An institution for over 25 years his shop on Rindermarkt 3 is jam-packed full of fun images including several original pieces of my artwork. Always in a good mood Frankie will give you a top-notch haircut while you listen to music, sip on an ice-cold beer and meet some of the local originals.
I never miss a visit at Frankie B. when I am in Zürich.

Back in 1999 when I lived on the wonderful island of Barbados, I had the pleasure of meeting Brian Talma, surfer and windsurfer extra-ordinaire.
He commissioned me to create a cartoon line-art version of the ‘Irie Man’ for him.
Here is a Link to his website which is: http://www.irieman-talma.com/
An excerpt from his biography:
Brian “Irie Man” Talma
You can spot Brian ‘Irie Man’ Talma on a crowded beach from yards away. He’s the one with the sun-bleached tousled locks and the broad, welcoming smile. And if he isn’t chatting with someone or posing for a camera, he’s giving somebody a big thumbs up, accompanied by his trademark beam, “Yeah, man, action!” World class windsurfer and international sports personality Brian ‘Irie Man’ Talma is a true veteran on the Professional Windsurfing Association (PWA) world tour. In 1989, after representing his homeland, Barbados, at the Seoul, Korea Olympics, Brian turned pro and soon became one of the most flamboyant personalities on the circuit.

Not everything I post in my own blog is totally self-serving and egocentric. Even though it is a blog about me and my work written by myself….
But this post certainly is.
So here I go again tooting my own horn….which might make you wonder whether I am not really a sleazy ‘cartoon peddler’, and not a swashbuckling, international philanthropist after all….
Well to that I say: Poo poo, Madame or Monsieur! as I head for my hot air balloon.
But before, I leave you with a link to the brand new collection of wonderful, fine Ian D. Marsden cartoon t-shirts I just put together over at www.bountee.com.
The t-shirts feature cartoons and characters, sometimes with little slogans and come in many different colors. There are shirts for men, women and children’s cuts and sizes. I think this concludes the expansion of the ’shop’ area on marsdencartoons.com for the moment and I can return to drawing, creating and making cheese and mustard sandwiches again.
The URL is: http://www.bountee.com/user/marsdencartoons
A selection of original GIF and animated GIF artwork for free download and use on MySpace.com has been placed on my website
at http://www.marsdencartoons.com/english/download_myspace.htm.
I hope you have fun with them. I intend to constantly add to and expand on the collection.
I also am planning on starting a whole new category of insane glitter graphics for people who under normal circumstances would be allergic to glitter….pieces that don’t make any sense whatsoever or can be posted as anti-glitter responses when glitter is received. Such as this one ‘Where the heck is all this glitter coming from????”
